Sent: 11. joulukuuta 2009 23:23 Subject: Kalle testing - Version 2.0

Hi Antti, Jussi and Krister,

You should now be able to access the Kalle demo application, Version 2.0 on the machine from your VPN network IP addresses that you provided: the HY-VPN IP-address range.

In order to access kalle-test you first have to open a VPN-connection to Helsinki University. Then enter the URL : http://kalle-test.csc.fi/KIELIPANKKI (The same URL as before.)

into your browser. We recommend that you use Mozilla Firefox as your browser.

For testing at the moment: You can enter "guest" for username and password, when prompted first at the "Authentication Required" dialog box. You can use your own EPPN. Antti's, Jussi's and Krister's, EPPNs are associated with their CSC accounts in the database, so that you may enter your EPPN in the form:

user@helsinki.fi

for username and password, when prompted, and the application will automatically populate the application form with your details.

Alternatively, you can still you can still enter "guest" for username and password.

The Demo will ask you to fill in the CSC user account information, but you do not need to enter anything at this point, as this password verification is not being carried out here currently.

You may now select any resource, or a combination of resources.

After this, you will see a "Terms & Conditions" page, for each resource you selected, to be accepted or declined.

The application form will then open. You will be asked to ensure there is something entered in each of the required fields.

If you selected a category 2 test resource only, then the application page will not open as controlled authorization is not required for category 2 resources. Instead a status page will be displayed showing which category 2 resource Terms & Conditions were accepted/declined.

You will then continue to the referee page.

Basic Authentication, like Shibboleth authentication, can only be effectively logged out of by closing the browser, so to restart the process completely you will need to do this. Once past the login the process is then in a session and expects to run to completion. If you wish to restart before completing the process you must also delete cookies in your browser. If the session has become invalid, i.e. timed out or completed, but the browser is still open, attempting to request more resources will display page asking the user to close and restart the browser.

Please contact us if you have any issues accessing the demo or if you wish to return to the previous version.

Thanks and regards, Seán and Satu.
