The Language Bank of Finland
To support linguistics and related sciences, CSC maintains the Language Bank of Finland, whose core consists of
  • language resources, ranging from collections of raw documents and multimedia and speech databases to linguistic text corpora, arboretums, tree banks as well as lexical resources such as word lists, terminologies and dictionaries.
  • language tools, ranging from field linguist's tools to file converters and preprocessors to morphological and syntactic models, lexical resources, language technological models and speech technological models as well as programming tools for language engineers.

These kinds of digital research material and computational methods are crucial parts of the common language resources for the humanities and social sciences.
