Helpdesk Item: SSH Secure File Transder: Changing Folders

Description of the Problem

After I opened a new file transder window in SSH Secure Shell, I cannot browse to the parent folder of my home directory. This problem depends on the version of SSH that you have.

The Answer(s)

There are few possible solutions:

  1. You can go to Edit > Settings > File Transfer and select Show Root Directory, or,
  2. You can go to Operation > Go to Folder and select the directory.
  3. In some versions and configurations of SSH you can type in the name of the directory into a window.
  4. In some versions or with some settings of SSH, you can open a file transfer window for the current directory. In such a configuration, you can first cd to the directory and then open a file transfer window there.
