The input is an analysis provided by the HGenerateMethod or HGuessMethod, but only two types of information are relevant: base form and paradigm tags.

The output consists of a list of model forms of the input base form within the input paradigm.

Each output model form is delimited by:

<m> ... </m>

If a specific model form is non-existant, this is indicated by an empty field:

If a specific model form has several variants, this is indicated within the model form field delimiting each variant:

<base>koe</base> <par><48><d></par>

<m>koe</m> <m>kokeen</m> <m>koetta</m> <m>kokeeseen</m> <m>kokeet</m> <m>kokeitten<o>kokeiden</o></m> <m>kokeita</m> <m>kokeisiin<o>kokeihin</o></m>

(That is, for Finnish we generate the set of forms used in the dictionary usage instructions and e.g. in Instruction page of the word list which represent the key stems of the word from which all other inflected forms can be derived.)

  • If the paradigm information is missing in the input, all the model forms related to the base form are generated.
  • In some morphological descriptions, the word class is sufficient as paradigm indicator.
