Joining BAULT

A list for news and announcements

All scholars researchers, PhD students and master's level who are interested in the BAULT domain and topics are welcome to join the mailing list for BAULT announcements and news. The bault-list št serves this purpose, and one can join it by sending a email to majordomo št where the body of the mail consists of: subscribe bault-list. Belonging to this list incurs no obligations and one may leave the list by sending a message unsubscribe bault-list to the same address (from the very same address you used for joining the list).

Many BAULT events are open to all interested (as far as the space permits) and for many, joining this information list could be a good way to learn more about BAULT before one decides to apply for a membership. In particular, people outside the University of Helsinki may also join the bault-list.

A number of scholars, researchers and PhD students formed the BAULT research community (RC) for the research evaluation of the University of Helsinki. At that time, various RCs were formed in a short time, and it is obvious that prospective members ended up in other RCs. BAULT has its domain of research and goals defined and it is welcomes further members who subscribe to these and are willing to contribute to the activities of BAULT.

The Board of BAULT may accept as new members further Scholars, researchers and PhD students of the University of Helsinki (as indicated by the TUHAT register) according to an application consisting of:

  1. the name of the applicant,
  2. the position of the applicant at the University of Helsinki (e.g. department, PhD graduate school, supervisor,...),
  3. how the applicant expects to benefit from being a member of the BAULT (i.e. how the research interests of the applicant are related to the domain of the BAULT), and
  4. how the applicant is willing to contribute to the goals and activities of the BAULT (e.g. serve actively in some BAULT thematic groups).

The application should be sent to Kimmo Koskenniemi( so that it will go to the agenda of the board. The decision of accepting someone with a Principal Investigator status (in the TUHAT registry) does not imply a membership of the BAULT Board.
