BAULT: The Board

The board consisted initially of the principal investigators who participated in the preparation of the application as documented on page 37 of the RC-Specific Evaluation of BAULT:

  • Jörg Tiedemann (chairman, leader of the BAULT from January 2016)
  • Kimmo Koskenniemi (former chairman, until December 2015)
  • Lauri Carlson (translation technology)
  • Fred Karlsson (general linguistics)
  • Krister Lindén (language technology, FIN-CLARIN)
  • Jan Lindström (Nordic studies)
  • Arto Mustajoki (Russian studies)
  • Terttu Nevalainen (English studies, VARIENG)
  • Ahti Nikunlassi (Russian studies)
  • Asko Parpola (Indology)
  • Martti Vainio (phonetics)
  • Atro Voutilainen (language technology)
  • Roman Yangarber (computer science)
  • Anssi Yli-Jyrä (language technology)

In the second meeting of the board at 9 Apr 2013 the board decided to widen the basis of BAULT by inviting two further members to the board:

  • Jaakko Leino (Finnish language)
  • Riho Grünthal (Finno-Ugric studies)

In the fourth meeting of the board on 29 May 2013, Asko Parpola announced that he resigns from the board.

In case the board considers that there is need, it may invite new member to the board, e.g. to replace resigning ones.

Meeting times of the Board are recorded in the calendar of the BAULT.
